The band has again been invited to run several prime concession stands at Raymond James Stadium this year, with a portion of the proceeds going to the band as a fund raiser. We have already seen in the past each concession events raising over $1,200 dollars. The hours worked and portion of the proceeds are applied to band members accounts to help offset major purchases and upcoming trips.
For the 2009-10 school year Don Fahie and Antoinette Fahie will be overseeing the Volunteer signup and coordination. Any questions or if you want to volunteer for any of the games. Dons Cell is 813-491-4306
The
Durant Music Booster Board has agreed that all volunteer work at Raymond James
Stadium will be accumulated into Band Members accounts. All
monies earned will be divided by the workers per band student to
more evenly distribute the benefits. Monies are monitored by the Boosters
Treasurer and the balance stays with the student until requested to be applied
to any band fees. For Seniors who may end up with a credit balance in their
account at the end of the school year, the balance is applied to the general
band fund.
To volunteer for games that need more workers, contact Henry Dilport at 986-1154. Schedules and lists of signed-up volunteers for each event are maintained by Henry. You must be 17 years of age to be eligible to work.
To see who is signed up for each game, please click on the RJS game link on the Calendar. If you need to cancel any games for which you are assigned to work, please contact Henry Dilport (986-1154) so that someone else can be placed in your spot. [NOTE: Allow at least 1-1/2 hours from the Brandon/Valrico/Durant area to get to the stadium]
Thank you for volunteering. We look forward to another great Raymond James season. This year we are all starting to look forward to 2010-11 Marching Season that will bring us back to Arizona. We urge all parents and eligible students to take advantage of this great opportunity to help pay for this trip. Just a reminder many parents are able to pay for the entire trip by working at Raymond James.

PARKING: |
Parking is FREE at Bucs
games at the HCC Campus on Dale Mabry across from the stadium. |
|
SHUTTLE BUS: |
For Bucs games, there is a shuttle
bus that takes the volunteers from the back HCC parking lot to the front
of the stadium. As you drive around the back of the HCC campus, you will see
the line of cars going into the volunteer parking area, there will be charter
buses sitting in the parking lot. The bus drops you off on the east side
of the stadium on Himes Avenue, and you must walk to Gate B. Allow at least 1/2 hour to get inside the HCC
parking area and take the ride over to the stadium. The buses run for
several hours after Bucs games end to get you back to HCC parking. |
|
CHECK IN TIMES: |
The check-in time on calendar is the time volunteers are permitted to enter Gate B on
Himes Avenue. Late arrivals will be turned away and cannot get credit for
volunteering. |
|
IDENTIFICATION: |
All volunteers must have a picture
ID, driver's license, or military ID. ID's
do require verification of age. |
|
AT GATE B: |
Go to the tables to sign in. You will be given a wristband and a meal ticket and told to go to the assigned station. All volunteers will be issued a meal ticket that can be used to buy your food for that shift at any of the eateries. For USF games, we work other stands and you will
be notified upon arrival of their location. |
|
ATTIRE: |
Wear dark pants or shorts (no jeans of a blue color). Wear comfortable shoes as you will be standing on your feet most of the shift. Shoes must be closed-toe and no sandals allowed. Ladies should have their hair up, Levy Corp. provides the shirts, visors and aprons. Try not to bring a purse, but if it is necessary, they must be small--no larger than a paperback book. Purses will be searched at Gate B. You cannot bring umbrellas into the stadium. |
| IN THE CONCESSION: |
Eating in view of the customers is not permitted and food cannot be carried out of the stadium at the end of your shift. Before leaving at the end of the game, the concession stand must be cleaned by all volunteers. If an occasion arises where a volunteer must leave early, please notify the Durant Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteer duty will end at approximately 3 hours after the start of the game. |
